From the moment we landed at Reina Beatrix Aruba International Airport at Aruba till the end of the Ban Topa, we were pleasantly surrounded with the Aruba warmth and superb hospitality.
My wife and I were picked up at the airport by Orlando Hoevertz, president of RC Aruba, who kindly took us to our hotel, the Divi Village Golf and Beach Resort. This is a beautifully located resort surrounded by golf greens. Our apartment was luxurious and very comfortable. |

Our Aruban brethren again showed that Aruba is one friendly island indeed. This year’s Ban Topa, which took place in Aruba was a blast! Rotarians from Curaçao, St. Maarten and Bonaire that made the trip had only good things to say about the experience.

Keeping up with tradition, the 2008 edition of the RotaRally scavenger hunt provided for a day filled with fun and fellowship. A total of 136 cars participated in this year's event, 101 of which made it to the finish in time.
This year's questions and challenges proved to be very balanced in terms of difficulty. Two teams ended up with a perfect score and the jury had to factor in the time spent on the course to determine the final winner. |

On Sunday October 19, 2008 RCW Rotarians planted fourteen indigenous young trees in the Christoffel Park. The saplings were trusted to the ground nearby a small stream that resulted from the rain that had fallen recently.
Under the guidance of the expert Dolfi Debrot of Carmabi, Rotarians and family members dug holes in the ground with pickaxes and shovels to plant the young trees thus contributing to the preservation of the diversity of the flora in Curacao. |

September 16, 2008, marked Rotary Club Willemstad's 6th anniversary since being chartered in 2002. District 4370 Governor, mr. Sebastián Collura, who had recently visited the club, sent a congratulatory message to commemorate the occasion.
