 A small group of fellows from Rotary Club Willemstad (RCW) visited Suriname District 7030 from November 13th - 15th to attend the IGM - Inter Guyana's Meeting, between French Guyana, Suriname and Guyana.
The theme for IGM's 2009 meeting was "CLEAN WATER". Each country had 20 minutes for a country presentation. |

 On November 9, 2009 the Rotary Club Willemstad was visited by representatives of Kinderoord Brakkeput and the "Un Bon Hoben Pa Un Bon Famia" Foundation.
Earlier this year RCW's Charities Commission identified an interesting project for the youth in Fuik. Fellow Bill Winkel of the Charities Commission made a strong case for a donation to Majron Maduro for his excellent work with the youth in the Fuik region, in this case making it possible for the Fuik youth to participate in the Seu-parade.
Majron Maduro's work was also recognized by the community since he recently won the "Unsung Hero Award" of Curaçao. So we were very interested in learning more about Majron Maduro and the projects he has initiated.

 During a lunch meeting on October 12, 2009, three new RCW members were pinned by our incoming president Robbin Martina, who for the first time held the RCW chairman's gavel, standing in for current president Marcos Cova.
As the members were being pinned, District Governor Pedro Pablo Puky made sure he had some pictures to show back home. |

 During a lunch meeting on October 12, 2009, RCW was honored with the visit of our District Governor Pedro Pablo Puky.
The District Governor is required to visit each individual club one time during his year as DG and this was his first visit to RCW as the District Governor (DG). Pedro Pablo Puky was accompanied by assistant district governor Antony Owers. |
