Headquarted in Evanston, Illinois, Rotary International has 1.2 million members in 159 countries, primarily business and professional people dedicated to serving their communities and promoting peace, goodwill, and international understanding. The Clubs’ members engage in more than 35,000 programs each year. Rotary International has held twelve major Peace Forums.

Rotary International has non-governmental organizational status at The United Nations and some of its agencies in Geneva and Vienna. It holds an annual program at the United Nations in New York.
